Oscar Pistorius
sentenced to 5 years in prison for girlfriend's killing
The family of the
killed girlfriend of Pistorius said they were satisfied with the sentence
because justice was made. They must have been suffered too much and now they
want to get it over with it, though the fact of losing their loved one will
never go away.
Oscar Pistorius,
also known as blade runner, who took part in the 2008 London Olympic and ran
with able athletes, was convicted of culpable homicide of his girlfriend at his
luxurious home in the small toilet.
The judge gave a
five-year sentence on his conviction. She said that the sentence was given based
on the balance of elements such as the nature and seriousness of the crime, the
personal circumstances of the accused and the interests of society.
